About Erica Soy Candles

My passion for soy candles began when I was invited to attend a candle party at a friend’s house one Saturday afternoon in January 2008.

Little did I know that it would change my life completely. I was not really ‘into candles’ and just went along for a chat and some cake.

This friend always has good cake!

When I arrived at the party, I was the owner of just one candle that was stuck in the back of my bathroom cupboard and had been there for about 7 years!

During the party I learnt about candles made with soy and then got to make one to take home with me. They were easy to make and smelled wonderful.

I love things that smell good!

I was instantly hooked and I wanted to make soy candles for everyone!

I launched Hugs & Kisses Hand Poured Soy Candles by Erica in February 2008 and in 2011 I re-branded as Erica Soy Candles.

I live in the north of Canberra (Gungahlin) with my two pre-teen children, Henry and Sophie and a little black cat called Ebony.

I have a very full and crazy busy life.

I work full time, take Zumba classes for a bit of  a giggle, try to walk as much as possible, love to grow and dry my own herbs, dabble in a bit of knitting, nothing too complicated though and make candles!

I have a great circle of generous and loving friends that keep me sane and make me laugh.

I don’t like clutter and am a bit of a perfectionist!
